Translations

Post by Rudolf » Tue 31. Mar 2015, 18:03

A small team has been formed with the purpose of translating into German and English all relevant and even extensive texts such as essays, interviews or other papers so far available in Hungarian language only in order to place them at the disposal of interested readers in these languages. Even more than the musical oeuvre, the literary work of György Szabados is virtually unknown outside Hungary.
Our team consists of Ms. Marianne Tharan, translator, having acquired her translation diploma at the Zurich School for Interpretation and Translation (DOZ); Dr. Heather Alexander, website layout and design, and final editing of English text, is head of Communications at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre. The third member of the team is the webmaster, who is responsible for all content of this website.
We appreciate and welcome suggestions, ideas and support anytime.
Any possibility to translate the texts into other languages – into French, Russian or Slavic languages - as a contribution to support the propagation of György Szabados’ ideas would fall here on fertile ground.

The first major text being translated at the moment is an interview with György Szabados by Tamás Régheny published in 2008 in the Hungarian magazine Ökotáj with the title: The improvisation’s timeless message.

Following translations from Hungarian into German and English have been made so far by Ms. Marianne Tharan:
Words of György Ligeti on a POSTCARD FROM 18.04.1995 ABOUT GYÖRGY SZABADOS CD: “SAND-MUSIC / HOMOKI ZENE” http://xn--gyrgy-szabados-wpb.com/the-w ... ranslated/
LINER NOTES for the CD: THE HEART OF BEAUTY / A SZEPSEG SZIVE (GYÖRGY SZABADOS & MIKLÓS MÁKÓ DUO) http://györgy-szabados.com/the-world-of ... -duo-2001/

We would be pleased to receive your comments and remarks about the subject and we wish you enjoyable reading.

Dear friends of the music of György Szabados,
Since not all texts are available in Hungarian, the website has been created mainly in English.
We would appreciate any help in the texts’ translation into Hungarian. If you feel like contributing to our efforts made for popularizing the world of György Szabados, please send your translation of one or more pages to me: info@györgy-szabados.com, and we will insert the translation at the correct place.
If you are interested, please get in touch with us.
