As a young clarinetist, Antal Babits, the founder of the New Dimension Workshop, formerly worked for the late Kassak Contemporary Music Workshop which introduced and set on foot many improvisative musicians and was led by Szabados.
Szabados himself, whose music is characterized by the cultual sacrality of freedom and bounds, tries to preserve the highest human and musical values: the improvizative skills and their artistic use in classical musicians and establish it in the Hungarian music life. Thus the new encounter was not by chance. This record has some actuality. In our age there could have been no real musical renewal without the improvisative thinking ressurected by jazz but the heritage people have living in the center of Europe is too huge and too deep not to consider this primarily as a modern yet timeless means of expressing their feelings. The Hungarian revolution of 1956 (this year is the 50. anniversary of it) is also a heritage which — in time and space but in public sense as well — is beyond the global spiritual and intellectual misery of politics and of the defenceless masses of contemporary men.
This record is also a tribute to the sacrality of the war of independence of 56, to the braveness and holiness of the “tame deer”, of the lamb among wolves.
The members of the New Dimension Workshop (the man of vision, Antal Babits, Csaba Klenyan, who was honoured with the Ferenc Liszt Award, and the excellent Adam Javorka) are talented and qualified musicians. All of them are reflective creators who deeply understand the essence of their art and at the same time accept their fate. Entertainment is not their only intent. They are serious musicians in the timeless meaning of the word. They do, they live, they work the miracle, they know that live music is the happy link between Heaven and Earth.
The material of the record was defined by the directing principles of Szabados and Babits alongside with the uplifting of the soul and the inner contentsof the specified musical lines. In such a way that written music was living and reassuring for thousands of years.

Szabados György és az Új Dimenzió Műhely a miskolci 2004. évi Bartók-Csajkovszkij Operafesztiválon játszott először együtt.
Az Új Dimenzió létrehozója, Babits Antal ifjú klarinétosként korábban dolgozott már a Szabados által vezetett, sok improvizatív zenészt beavató és szárnyra bocsátó néhai Kassák Kortárszenei Műhelyben.
Szabados pedig, akinek zenéjét kezdettől a szabadság és a kötöttség kultikus szakralitása jellemzi, igyekszik a hivatalos zeneoktatásból kimaradt, s a legmagasabb emberi és zenei értékeket fenntartó rögtönzési készséget és annak művészi gyakorlatát, a klasszikus végzettségű muzsikusokban is feléleszteni, a magyarországi zenei életben is otthonossá tenni. Nem véletlen tehát az újabb találkozás. Ez a lemez nem nélkülöz bizonyos aktualitást. A jazz által feltámasztott improvizativitás nélkül ugyan nem történt volna tényleges zenei megújhodás korunkban, ám az Európa centrumában élő ember túl nagy és túl mély örökséggel rendelkezik ahhoz, hogy mindebben ne elsőrendűen a maga érzéseit kifejezni fölöttébb alkalmas, korszerű és mégis időtlen lehetőséget lásson. Az 1956-os magyar forradalom is — amelynek most van az 50. évfordulója — immár olyan örökség, amely térben és időben, de közösségi értelemben is túlmutat a politika és a mind hatalmasabb tömegekben kiszolgáltatott ember mai globális lelki és szellemi nyomorán.
A lemez egyben tisztelgés is az 56-os szabadságharc szakralitása, farkasok közt a bárány és a „szelid őz” bátorsága, szentsége előtt.
Az Új Dimenzió Műhely tagjai (a koncepciózus Babits Antal mellett a Liszt-díjas Klenyán Csaba és a kiváló Jávorka Ádám), nagyszerű adottságú és képzettségű zenészek, akik mélyen átélik művészetük lényegét, s egyben sors-vállaló, gondolkodó alkotók, akiknek nem egyetlen céljuk a szórakoztatás. Komoly zenészek, a szó időtlen értelmében. Tudják, élik, bűvölik a csodát, azt, hogy az élő zene az Ég és a Föld közötti boldog kapocs.
A lemez anyagát Szabados és Babits rendező elvei határozták meg, a lélek emelkedése és konkrét zenei sorok benső tartalmai mentén. Úgy, ahogyan a nem írott zene évezredeken át, élt és biztatott.

Antal Babits, der Begründer des „New Dimension Workshop“ hatte als junger Klarinettist schon früher beim ehemaligen „Contemporary Music Workshop“ im Kassák Klub mitgearbeitet. In diesem Workshop führte Szabados, der ihn leitete, zahlreiche Musiker in die Improvisation ein und bereitete sie auf eine professionelle Laufbahn vor.
Szabados selbst, dessen Musik von Beginn an von der kultischen Sakralität von Freiheit und der Gebundenheit geprägt war, versuchte die höchsten menschlichen und musikalischen Werte an Musiker mit klassischer Ausbildung zu vermitteln: die Handhabung der Improvisationswerkzeuge und ihre künstlerische Umsetzung – eine Praxis welche vom offiziellen Musikunterricht nicht unterrichtet wird – und verankerte sie damit im ungarischen Musikleben. So ist das neue Treffen nicht zufällig entstanden. Diese Platte ist nicht ohne eine gewisse Aktualität. In unserer heutigen Zeit hätte keine wirkliche Erneuerung der Musik ohne die Erweckung der Improvisativität im Jazz stattfinden können. Der in der Mitte Europa’s lebende Mensch verfügt über ein zu großes und zu tiefes Erbe, um in dieser Tatsache nicht eine zeitgenössische und doch zeitlose Möglichkeit zu sehen, um damit seine Gefühle hervorragend auszudrücken zu können. Auch die ungarische Revolution von 1956 ( deren 50-Jahr-Feier dieses Jahr stattfindet) – ist ein solches Erbe, das in Zeit und Raum, aber genauso auch im gemeinschaftlichen Sinn über das heutige weltumspannende seelische menschliche und intellektuelle Elend der Politik und des immer mehr ausgelieferten Menschen hinausgeht.
Die Platte ehrt auch die Sakralität des Freiheitskampfes von ’56, den Mut und die Heiligkeit der Schafe unter den Wölfen, und des „sanften Rehs“.
Die Mitglieder des „New Dimension Workshops“ (neben dem konzeptionell denkenden Antal Babits; der mit dem Liszt-Preis ausgezeichnete Csaba Klenyán und der hervorragende Ádám Jávorka) sind Musiker mit ausgezeichnetem Talent und Ausbildung, die das Wesen ihrer Kunst tief erleben und gleichzeitig ihr Schicksal schultern. Empfangende Schöpfer, deren einziges Ziel nicht unbedingt die Unterhaltung ist. Sie sind ernsthafte Musiker, im zeitlosen Sinn des Wortes. Sie kennen, sie leben, sie bezaubern das Wunder, sie wissen, dass lebendige Musik die glückhafte Verbindung zwischen Himmel und Erde ist.
Die Musikauswahl wurde durch die ordnenden Prinzipien von Szabados und Babits bestimmt, getreu nach den Kriterien der Erhebung der Seele und des inneren Gehalts der spezifischen musikalischen Linien. So, wie die nicht niedergeschriebene Musik seit Tausenden von Jahren lebte und ermutigte.
