“I feel that the great music of György Szabados has not been fully appreciated – nor has his music been documented in an extensive kind of way. Even so – I know this man, he is my brother. I will always love and cherish the experiences we have had together.

When I think of the great music of György Szabados I am reminded of the global spectra of his music world. He has always reminded me of Béla Bartók; he was like a combination of Bartók and Thelonious Monk in a strange and beautiful kind of way.

My hope is that in the future there will be more documentation of his work so more friendly experiencers can be aware of this great man. György Szabados created a music that is equal to anything of the past fifty years, but did not have the opportunities to travel because of the political dynamics of his time period.

He is my brother and I love him. My hope is that his family is well, and I know that the students that learned from him are moving forward, because he was a great scholar and a great teacher.”

„Az az érzésem, hogy Szabados György nagyszerű zenéjét még nem értékelik kellően – és zenéjét sem dokumentálták nagyszabású módon. És mégis – ismerem ezt az embert: a testvérem. A közös élményeinkre mindig szeretettel fogok emlékezni, és becsben fogom tartani.

Ha Szabados György csodálatos zenéjére gondolok, eszembe jut zenei világának világméretű széles skálája. Mindig Bartók Bélára emlékeztetett; mintha Bartók és Thelonious Monk furcsa és szép keveréke lett volna.

Remélem, hogy a jövőben munkáját jobban fogják dokumentálni és több ez irányban kísérletező figyelme fog erre a nagy emberre irányulni. Szabados György olyan zenét alkotott, ami bármivel összevetve megállja a helyét az utolsó ötven évben, de nem volt alkalma utazni a kor politikai körülményei miatt.

Testvérem, és szeretem őt. Remélem, hogy családja jól van,és tudom, hogy tanítványai, akik tőle tanultak, haladnak, mert nagy tudós és nagy tanító volt.

Ich habe den Eindruck, dass die großartige Musik von György Szabados, weder die ihr zustehende volle Anerkennung erhalten hat, wie auch seine Musik fachlich noch nicht tiefgehend dokumentiert wurde. Nun, ich kenne diesen Mann, er ist mein Bruder. Ich werde die Begegnungen, die wir gemeinsamen hatten, immer lieben und pflegen.

Wenn ich an György Szabados’ herrliche Musik denke, kommt mir in erster Linie das weltumspannende Spektrum seiner musikalischen Welt in den Sinn. Er hat mich immer an Béla Bartók erinnert, er war wie eine Kombination aus Bartók und Thelonious Monk in einer seltsamen und wunderbaren Weise.

Meine Hoffnung geht dahin, dass es zukünftig eine größere Dokumentation seines Werkes geben wird, so dass Experimentierende sich dieses großen Mannes bewusst werden.
György Szabados erschuf eine Musik, die an alles heranreicht, was in den letzten 50 Jahren geschaffen wurde, obwohl er wegen der politischen Verhältnisse seiner Zeit nicht die Möglichkeit hatte zu Reisen.

Er ist mein Bruder, und ich liebe ihn. Meine Hoffnung ist, dass es seiner Familie gut geht – und ich weiß, dass die Schüler, die er ausgebildet hat, Fortschritte machen werden, weil er ein einmaliger Gelehrter und ein großartiger Lehrer war.
