Bei der Albumpräsentation der einzigartigen Musikkreation TENGRI – Mind – sang Éva Kanalas in Begleitung von Máté Pozsár am Klavier im Geiste des musikalischen Schaffensprozesses, der auf der neuen CD-Veröffentlichung zu hören ist, die 1997 in Fonó aufgenommen wurde. Improvisationen über Volkslieder in einer verwobenen Welt der musikalischen Poesie, die den Zuhörer in eine rituelle, theatralische Umgebung entführt. Tengri, ein türkisches Wort, das alles bedeutet.

Éva Kanalas und György Szabados gaben seinerzeit ein gemeinsames Konzert, in dem sie eine ganz eigene musikalische Welt darboten. Szabados war tief inspiriert von der starken, alten, reinen Vokalwelt, der Art und dem Klang von Éva Kanalas Gesang. Ihr Stil, der auf Ostasien zurückgeht und archaische Gesangstechniken erfordert, stand scheinbar im Widerspruch zu Szabados’ Gesangswelt, aber es wurde bald klar, dass die beiden letztlich vollkommen harmonierten. Kanalas umgab seine gestrickten Volkslieder mit Szabados’ Welt der freien Musik. Diese musikalische Poesie bietet den Zuhörern eine musikalische Erfahrung, die in Raum und Zeit extrem ausgedehnt ist. Es gibt nichts, was er nicht langsam durchforstet und in seine charakteristische Musik eingebunden hat. Und man kann Eva Kanalas’ Gehör nur bewundern, die ungehemmte Zuversicht, mit der sie in diesem “gewebten Medium” so natürlich singt.

At the album launch of the unique musical creation TENGRI – Mind – Éva Kanalas sang accompanied by Máté Pozsár on piano, in the spirit of the musical creative process that can be heard on the new CD release recorded in 1997 at Fonó. Éva Kanalas and György Szabados gave one concert together at the time, in which they performed a completely original musical world. Szabados was deeply inspired by the strong, ancient, pure vocal world, the way and the sound of Éva Kanalas singing. Her style, which goes back to East Asia and which preserves and demands archaic vocal technique, was seemingly at odds with Szabados’ vocal world, but it soon became clear that the two were ultimately in complete harmony. Kanalas surrounded his knitted folk songs with Szabados’ world of free music. This musical poetry offers its listeners a musical experience that is extremely expansive in space and time. There is nothing that he has not slowly sifted through and woven into his characteristic music. And one can only admire Eva Kanalas’s hearing, the uninhibited confidence with which she sings so naturally in this ‘woven medium’.

The presentation of the CD TENGRI by György Szabados and Éva Kanalas recorded in 1997 has been a great succes at the live performance in the Fonó Budai Zeneház.
